denisse vega de santiago is the founder of publicaciones vaca peluda, also known as hairy cow press.

born in pachuca ‘la bella airosa’ in 1990, she writes, curates, assembles, lecto-performs, teaches in architecture, enjoys printing and making delicious home-made horchata. she is particularly obsessed with the spatial logics of racial capitalism, and with the methodological and pedagogical possibilities of fiction as a spatial and political practice.

Among other neoliberal achievements, denisse won a national chess title at the age of 11, and the only full scholarship available for a non-eu student at the decolonizing architecture postmaster program of the royal art institute in stockholm (2022). Graduate from the Architecture Posgraduate Program of Piet Zwart Institute (2021), she also holds a MA in Arts & Culture, Contemporary Art at Leiden University.

under a full scholarship by Conacyt, she is currently a PhD candidate at the architecture history and theory department at tu/eindhoven, researching industrial architecture in so-called mexico, neoliberalism and feminist latinx artistic practice.

denisse has also been hanging out, living with, study-ing, cooking, organizing, and karaoking together with the mexico city based artist collective biquini wax eps since 2024.
